A Full Recap of Little Mix's 'Glory Days' Era

With confirmation that the ‘Glory Days’ era, quite possibly one of the most successful periods of time in Little Mix’s career, is now unfortunately over, we have the next era – also known as LM5 – to look forward to. But we couldn’t leave the notable ‘Glory Days’ era behind without recapping it!

Let’s start with the first performance of lead single ‘Shout Out To My Ex’ on ‘The X Factor,’ the show which kick started their career, when they won the competition back in 2011. Their performance was the first hint of what this era would have in store. Not to mention that the single was extremely well received by Mixers worldwide, landing the band their fourth Number 1 in the UK. The track is the ultimate heartbreak anthem, a happy heartbreak song.

Shortly after the performance, the ‘Glory Days’ album was released. Featuring tracks such as ‘Your Love,’ ‘Down & Dirty,’ ‘Nobody Like You’ and ‘Nothing Else Matters,’ this album was a particular stand-out due to the personal nature of the lyrics and the continued development of their vocals.

The ‘Glory Days’ album was particularly special, as it marked the girls’ first Number 1 album – an achievement that was extremely well deserved!

In January 2017, it was announced that Little Mix were nominated for several BRIT Awards (Best British Single with ‘Shout Out To My Ex,’ Best British Group, and Best British Video of the Year).

Around this time, they released their second single from the album: ‘Touch’ which was followed by an eye-catching music video. Later on in the ‘Glory Days’ era, they re-released ‘Touch’ as a collaboration with Kid Ink, which featured on ‘Glory Days: The Platinum Edition.’

The first few months of 2017 saw Little Mix support Ariana Grande on the American leg of her ‘Dangerous Woman Tour,’ an opportunity which allowed them to further grow their fan base.

One of the most notable moments of this era was the BRIT Awards. The band won their first BRIT Award with their single ‘Shout Out To My Ex’ and also performed at the ceremony.

In the coming months, we saw more incredible music videos, along with phenomenal collaborations with artists Machine Gun Kelly, CNCO and Stormzy.

During the year, Jade, Perrie, Jesy and Leigh-Anne embarked on a headline worldwide tour, performing tracks off the album alongside some of their older classics.

It was also announced in November 2017 that a Platinum Edition of the ‘Glory Days’ album was to be released. In addition to including a feature-length documentary, which followed the girls throughout the year, there were three new tracks: ‘If I Get My Way,’ ‘Is Your Love Enough?’ and ‘Dear Lover.’

However, before the fifth era begins, Little Mix will be embarking on a headline UK stadium tour throughout July. For a full list of dates and to buy tickets, click here.

It can definitely be said that the ‘Glory Days’ era will be memorable. With their fifth studio album in the works and having recently announced the track ‘Only You’ with Cheat Codes, taken from the ‘Ministry of Sound & Love Island Present The Pool Party’ CD, the fifth era of Little Mix looks set to be phenomenal!
