Five Things You Didnt know about Jodie Sweetin

Target Presents Variety's Power Of Youth Event - Inside

Actress Jodie Sweetin rose to fame during the late 80s and early 90s for her memorable role as middle child, Stephanie Tanner, on the hit sitcom Full House.  Sweetin’s character was cute, witty, and entertaining; often caught between being jealous of her older sister’s freedom and envious of her younger sister’s attention, Stephanie Tanner proved to be a lovable and relatable character for many viewers. While Sweetin has had a few minor roles since Full House‘s end in 1995, she has remained mostly out of the spotlight, and though most people continue to recognize her as Stephanie Tanner, there are many things about Sweetin that even die-hard Full House fans may not know.  Here is a list of five things you didn’t know about Jodie Sweetin.

5. Her college GPA.

When Full House ended, Sweetin had a hard time adjusting to “normal” life.  After graduating high school Sweetin received a scholarship to attend Chapman University in California.  Sweetin was a very smart and capable student; however, she rarely attended classes, and after receiving a .9 GPA she lost her scholarship and returned home to live with her parents.

4. Jodie Sweetin’s husband(s).

Jodie Sweetin has been married (and divorced) a total of three times.  In 2002 Sweetin married Shaun Holguin and the two divorced in 2006. Sweetin then married Cody Herpin in 2007, and the couple had one child together, a daughter named Zoe.  Sweetin and Herpin divorced in 2010. Sweetin’s marriage to third husband, Morty Cole, only lasted from 2012-2013; however, the couple did have one child together, a daughter named Beatrix.

3. She’s an only child.

While Sweetin’s most noteworthy character, Stephanie Tanner, was the middle child between two sisters, Sweetin has no siblings in real life.  However, according to her fan site, she once said that she would have liked to have a brother.

2. She’s an author.

In 2010 Sweetin published a memoir titled unSweetined.  The book chronicle’s Sweetin’s life and the personal struggles she faced after Full House’s final season. The book has been described as both “explosive” and “brutally honest.”

1. Sweetin didn’t audition for the role as Stephanie Tanner.

When the creators of Full House saw Sweetin’s appearance on the sitcom Valerie, they decided to create the part of Stephanie Tanner specifically for Sweetin.
